Background and Mission


Yayasan Permakultur Kalimantan was established in 2014 with the mission to support communities return to sustainable living in a way that values and integrates the natural environment, people, and culture for the long term.

The Experience

Be briefed on the ethics and concept design of permaculture in the beginning. After that, you will have a tour of the Permaculture Kalimantan foundation permaculture learning farm and its affiliated social enterprises including the Kedai Itah cafe.

Duration Time

The visit will last approximately 1-1.5 hours. The site is a 15 min walk from rungan sari or a 2 min drive.

What To Bring

Sunscreen, hat, mosquito repellant, water tumbler, sunglasses, a hand fan, comfortable shoes.

What Is Included

Water refill is available on site for free, BYO tumbler. Participants can buy food and drinks from the Kedai Itah cafe. The cafe is closed from Monday to Wednesday and open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

There are seat-sitting and squat toilets onsite (BYO toilet paper). Homemade coconut soap will be available to buy.

Meeting Point

The meeting points will be at the Swissbel Hotel and Rungan Sari (more indications, to follow.) Please plan to be at least 10 minutes before the assigned departure time to avoid missing your bus!

5.50 USD per person, to cover transportation (USD 5) and transaction Fees (0.50).

A donation of USD 5 is suggested to help offset some project costs, but any amount will be appreciated. This is entirely voluntary and will be in addition to the transportation fee.
