Mis Corazones Alegres

At A Glance: Mis Corazones Alegres Foundation, based in Medellín, Colombia, seeks to improve the quality of life of older adults by providing them with lodging and care. Residents have limited economic resources and typically suffer from disabilities resulting from Alzheimer’s, stroke, diabetes, and cancer. They are cared for by professionally trained staff.
Goals: Create a healthy, active environment for seniors through culture, recreation, physical exercise, work therapy and events that include family members and encourage community integration.
Results: Approximately 20 individuals are currently cared for at Mis Corazones Alegres.
